Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy explains how LAS Converter ("we", "us"), operated by LAS G Concept in Nigeria, handles personal data on the website lasconverter.lasgconcept.com and in the LAS Converter Windows and Android apps. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), and, for users in the EU/UK, the GDPR.
1. Data we collect
- Account: email address, password (stored hashed by Supabase) or Google sign-in identity, plan and Premium expiry date.
- Usage: daily download counts, and for logged-in users a download history (links and titles) so you can find your files again.
- Session and device: a session identifier used to keep one active device per account, plus basic technical logs (IP address, browser, time) used for security and abuse prevention.
- Payments: the Paystack payment reference, amount, plan and status. We never see or store your card or bank details.
2. Your files
- Conversions (video, audio, image) run inside your browser or app. These files are not uploaded to us.
- Link downloads (e.g. Facebook): our server fetches the media and deletes it automatically after 45 minutes. Premium cloud copies are stored on Cloudflare R2 and deleted after 24 hours.
- Speech to text: English can run on your device. For Pidgin, Yoruba and Hausa transcription and translation, the audio is sent to our server and processed by our AI provider, Groq, Inc., only to produce your transcript. We don't keep the audio after the job finishes.
3. Why we use your data (legal bases)
- To provide your account, plan, downloads and transcripts (performance of a contract).
- To enforce one device per account, daily limits and to stop abuse and fraud (legitimate interests).
- To keep payment records (legal obligation).
- To show personalised ads, where required by law only with your consent (consent).
4. Advertising and cookies
Free pages show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, which may be personalised based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalised ads at Google Ad Settings and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where required (for example in the EU/UK), you'll be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. We also use essential local storage to keep you signed in. Premium users don't see ads.
5. Who we share data with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that run the service for us: Supabase (accounts and database), Paystack (payments), Cloudflare (website hosting and Premium cloud storage), Render (download and processing server), Groq (speech to text) and Google (AdSense and Google sign-in). Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria; we rely on their contractual safeguards for international transfers.
6. How long we keep data
- Link-download files: 45 minutes (Premium cloud copies: 24 hours).
- Speech audio: deleted after processing.
- Account data and download history: while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, see Contact. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or, in the EU/UK, your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords, access-controlled databases and automatic file deletion. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
9. Children
LAS Converter is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We'll post any updates here and change the date above. For important changes we'll notify logged-in users.
